From Vision to VISIONNAIRE: How Singapore’s Leading Luxury Event Agency Was Born

The French have a word, savoir-faire, that does not translate cleanly into English. It means knowing how to do something, but with a connotation of ease, of mastery so thoroughly internalised that it no longer announces itself. It is, in many ways, the quality that defines the finest event production: the ability to make the extraordinarily difficult appear entirely inevitable.
When David Desbordes and Alexandre Sokolovitch founded Visionnaire in Singapore in 2007, savoir-faire was not an aspiration. It was the starting point.

Two veterans. One city. A single, clearly held conviction that the events industry in South East Asia was capable of operating at a higher standard than it was being asked to.
David Desbordes and Alexandre Sokolovitch had spent the better part of their careers inside the event industry before they founded Visionnaire in Singapore, at the height of the pre-financial-crisis luxury boom and around the same time Louis Vuitton introduced the Neverfull.
Between them, they brought more than two decades of accumulated experience earned in the specific pressures of high-stakes production. This was acquired from the briefing rooms of demanding clients, the logistics of large-scale builds, and the particular discipline required to deliver something extraordinary on a fixed date, to a fixed guest list, with no margin for error. They had also spent long enough in Singapore, more than 20 years each, to understand the market they were entering with unusual precision.

What they established was not a generalist event company but a specialist one, built around the sectors where the standard of expectation is highest and the tolerance for approximation is lowest. Automotive and luxury are two industries that share a common grammar of precision, heritage and visual authority, and that require event partners who understand those values from the inside rather than interpreting them from a distance.
From product launches and high jewellery presentations to horlogerie exhibitions, fashion activations, and VIP ceremonies, Visionnaire positioned itself at the intersection of creative ambition and operational rigour from the outset.
The agency’s scope of services reflects the breadth that serious luxury production demands. Creative services span concept and universe creation, 2D and 3D design renderings, technical CAD drawings, video and light design, video mapping, and CGI animation. Strategy and amplification cover brand and product activation, integrated marketing, digital and social engagement. Production encompasses venue sourcing and negotiation, destination management, audio-visual production, catering, model casting, backstage management, and event licensing. Collaboration extends to artist and talent management, celebrity chef partnerships, music programming, and entertainment booking. Guests management handles concierge logistics, front of house operations, and VIP and celebrity participation.
Each discipline is staffed by specialists, and the 17-strong team that now carries the agency’s work forward includes event directors, a scenographer and artistic director, senior designers proficient in 3D and AutoCAD, production managers, and account teams with deep experience across the luxury segment.

The client list that has accumulated over nearly two decades speaks to the trust the agency has built within that segment. Chanel, Hermès, Cartier, Dior, Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, Patek Philippe, Tudor, IWC, Montblanc, Piaget, Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, Volkswagen, Audi, Hyundai are not brands that extend their confidence lightly, and they do not maintain relationships with agencies that fail to honour it.
That Visionnaire has served 85 active clients across South East Asia, averaging 60 productions per year, is a measure of operational consistency as much as creative capability.
Sustainability has become an increasingly central dimension of that practice. ISO 20121 certified and guided by a formal manifesto for Better Events, the agency has formalised its commitment to responsible production across the full lifecycle of every event it produces.

A dedicated Event Sustainability Compliance Controller sits within the team, holding the sustainability standard from the first supplier conversation to the final waste report. The position exists because Visionnaire’s founders understood early that the values a luxury brand holds in its products must be reflected in the events produced in its name, and that an agency serious about the former has no choice but to be serious about the latter.
What began as two Frenchmen with a clear point of view about what event production in Singapore could be has grown, over 25 years, into an agency with the credentials, the team and the track record to make that point of view count. The vision, as it turns out, was well placed.

Visionnaire was founded on the premise that luxury brands deserve event partners who understand them as completely as they understand themselves. Nearly two decades later, with ISO 20121 certification, a 17-strong specialist team and a client roster that represents some of the most demanding names in global luxury, the agency has made good on that premise with consistency. The founding conviction has not changed. The capacity to deliver on it has grown considerably.
