Electrifying a Market Debut — CUPRA Singapore’s Born and Tavascan Launch

On 14 March 2025, CUPRA marked its official launch in Singapore with a high-impact unveiling at Orchard Road, introducing the all-electric CUPRA Born and CUPRA Tavascan to invited media, partners, and automotive enthusiasts. Presented by Volkswagen Group Singapore, the evening announced pricing from S$195,900 for the Born and S$209,900 for the Tavascan, inclusive of COE as of March 2025, formally establishing the Spanish performance marque’s presence in the premium electric segment ahead of its public showcase. Visionnaire was appointed as event management partner for the launch event.


The occasion carried strategic significance. With a new showroom at 247 Alexandra Road and two fully electric models entering the premium segment, CUPRA required a debut that communicated engineering credibility, design confidence, and commercial intent in equal measure. The Born is offered in e-Boost and VZ variants with outputs of 231PS and up to 326PS, and a maximum WLTP range of 599km in VZ specification. The Tavascan is available in Endurance and all-wheel-drive VZ specifications, producing 286PS and up to 340PS respectively, with a maximum WLTP range of 568km in Endurance form. These figures set the technical foundation and the launch translated them into experience.


Set against the energy of Orchard Road, the open-air venue was transformed into a contemporary European showcase that reflected CUPRA’s Barcelona roots and progressive design language. Architectural staging framed the vehicles with clarity, while calibrated lighting sequences accentuated sculpted bonnet lines, illuminated badging, and the Tavascan’s distinctive SUV coupe silhouette. An energetic performance spearheaded the reveal—building anticipation before the Born emerged as the brand’s first all-electric model in Singapore, followed by the Tavascan as its design and performance flagship.


Guest flow was carefully orchestrated to encourage considered engagement. Following the presentations by CUPRA executives and ceremonial unveilings, attendees moved through curated interaction zones where product specialists presented the Born’s 59kWh battery configuration and rapid charging capability, as well as the Tavascan’s 77kWh system, 15-inch infotainment display, among others. The environment supported both media documentation and intimate inspection to balance spectacle with substance.


Visionnaire’s scope encompassed full event strategy and execution for the Orchard Road launch. This included venue transformation, stage and set design, technical production, audio-visual integration, lighting design, live show direction, rehearsals, structural compliance, and on-site operations management. Automotive launches of this scale require meticulous coordination across distributor teams, regional principals, media representatives, and technical contractors. Detailed run-of-show planning made sure of alignment between executive addresses, reveal cues, and performance segments, while contingency measures addressed weather variables inherent to an outdoor setting.


It was a technically assured and visually distinctive market debut that resonated with Singapore’s automotive press and early adopters. The evening established immediate brand presence, articulated CUPRA’s performance-driven electric proposition, and positioned the Born and Tavascan with clarity and confidence from the outset. Through disciplined production and refined experiential design, the Orchard Road launch set the tone for CUPRA’s next revolutionary chapter in Singapore.
