A Suite of Serpents and Starlight at BVLGARI’s High Jewellery Trunk Show in Singapore

On 1 March 2024, BVLGARI hosted an exclusive high jewellery trunk show and dinner at The Singapore Edition, bringing 154 of its finest creations to an intimate gathering of clients, press and friends of the Maison. Humbled and honoured to be chosen for the brief, Visionnaire was appointed as full event management partner, overseeing venue design and build, guest experience and programming, and the production of the evening dinner and model show.

The event unfolded across two settings. A curated suite within the hotel housed 110 pieces of high jewellery and 44 high-end watches, arranged for clients and invited guests to experience up close over the course of the weekend. We designed the suite environment to present each creation with the attention it warranted, balancing the intimacy of a private viewing with the visual weight of a collection of this scale. Come evening, the occasion unfurled into the hotel’s ballroom, where a seated dinner and model show brought the jewels to life in a different register entirely.

The collection itself gave the room much to look at. Anchoring the showcase was the Ruby Metamorphosis necklace in platinum, set with a 10.02-carat antique cushion-cut Mozambique ruby alongside 18 oval diamonds, 345 buff-top rubies, and nearly 200 further diamonds and rubies—a piece that took approximately 2,500 hours to complete and can be worn nine ways.

If the Ruby Metamorphosis commanded the room, the Emerald Venus necklace earned its place beside it on quieter terms. An ode to the Roman goddess of beauty, rendered in platinum with a 19.30-carat Colombian octagonal emerald, 62 emerald beads totalling 130.77 carats, and diamond-set leaves cascading across the neck—1,600 hours of work made wearable was placed and lit to bestow upon it the stillness it deserved.

Where those two pieces occupied the grand register, the Serpenti brought something more personal. The pink gold necklace set with a 2.72-carat pear-shaped emerald and its matching bracelet moved fluidly with the body, each piece constructed from tiny ball bearings that settle naturally against the skin.

Finally, rounding out the highlights was a piece that operates in a category of its own. The Serpenti Misteriosi Cleopatra is a cuff that functions as both bracelet and watch, winner of the Jewellery award at the 2023 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, its hexagonal topaz concealing a diamond-set dial within.

But the collection was only part of the story. The guest list was equally considered, flaunting familiar faces of the brand that filled the room: Fiona Xie, Joanne Peh, Qi Yuwu, Iman Fandi, Hanli Hoefer, Shawn Thia, Xenia Tan, Tyler Ten, Zhai Siming and Herman Keh among them. Visionnaire managed the full scope of this trunkshow, the gala dinner and the production of the model show. The groundwork showed, as the evening moved with ease and the final toast marked a night well spent.

Producing a private trunk show of this calibre means knowing when to step back and when to intervene, and getting that balance right across three distinct formats. While the suite invited quiet discovery, the dinner commanded a room, and the model show gracefully brought everything together in a single choreographed moment. When the collection is this extraordinary, the experience built around it has to be worthy of it.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to—and the one BVLGARI deserved.
